“My wife, Melissa and I were in the market to buy a new home. We were starting to outgrow our old house, and we wanted to move not only to a better school district but also into a home that we wouldn’t soon outgrow. After several failed attempts to find just the right house, we stumbled upon the Northgate Community. We were kind of scared to look at brand new houses, but Allen Edwin was doing something a lot of builders were missing; they were offering more house for your money. We started looking a little more closely and found that they had a different way of building houses, more economical and using far less waste to give me, the buyer, more house at less cost. We decided we would go through with what we thought would be a long process and we were surprised to find that it didn’t take nearly as long as we thought it would. In fact, we were scared that we wouldn’t sell our current house in time to start living in our brand new one. We were so confident in what Allen Edwin was doing that we decided to buy a 2,200 sq. ft. house without even seeing one first. Sure, we had seen all the model homes, but the 2200 was to us like the story of the three bears. Not too big, and not too small, but just the right size for our family needs. With all the different choices we had from choosing colors, to light fixtures, doors, windows, etc., we found that what we thought was going to be a long drawn out process actually went by extremely fast. Before we knew it, we were living in our new Allen Edwin home that was just the right size, the right fit, and in just the right location. Not only were we impressed with the speed and ease of our home buying experience, we were also honored to get to know the sales people. One in particular who went out of her way to help us was Jen Adams. I’m sure there were days along the way where we were trying her patience, or asking too many questions, or asking the same thing over and over again. But she was always kind, courteous, and always, always there with a smile and an answer. So after all this, was it worth it? Absolutely. Would we go through this process again? “I am writing this recommendation from the experience my wife and I had with Allen Edwin. We couldn’t be happier with the process, the product, and the outcome of our experience. We started our journey in the fall of 2009. Not knowing the area (moving from Chicago) and being first time home buyers we were extremely overwhelmed with the process at first. Our realtor showed us several houses that all had certain flaws, whether it be price, size, location, or condition we couldn’t seem to find an exact match. When he mentioned a builder my first thought that it would be out of our price range and more time and energy than we wanted to spend. Our first meeting was in the winter of ’09 with our sales consultant, Jeff Hammond. After seeing the models and then the subsequent price I was a bit skeptical. The models seemed much nicer than anything we had seen in our price point, they were also bigger, and brand new. My father and father in law both were shocked by the quality of the houses we looked at that were ‘in process’. We decided to move forward. We were walked through every part of the building process from the lot transfer through the selection process. The house was finished with quality and speed. We have had no problems and were taken excellent care of throughout the process. The Allen Edwin crew worked diligently with us on all of our wants and needs. They went the extra mile to get us a deal when some of their upgrade choices changed, and were extremely helpful in our loan process. Jeff was a great point of contact throughout it all and we love our Allen Edwin home. “Building with Allen Edwin has been a great experience. Jeff Hammond was a very friendly, professional, personable sales counselor to deal with. He always returned phone calls promptly and answered any questions we had no matter how much we called (which was a lot) or how busy he was. What Jeff couldn’t answer for us, production manager Nick Skripka was there to handle, including more of the actual building questions, and some final touch–ups on the home. And speaking of touch–ups, Bill went through the completed home with a fine–toothed comb to make sure the home was as close to being perfect as possible. Bill doesn’t miss a thing when going through final inspections. He saw many things that I didn’t on the walls and cupboards that needed touch–ups. Everyone made sure the home was done without cutting any corners. Having the ENERGY STAR rating and 10 year structural warranty doesn’t hurt either. All three of these guys, and any other Allen Edwin employees we dealt with were very focused on the customer being first. Very impressed! And our kitchen…wow, we’re still pinching ourselves. We would recommend Allen Edwin to anyone.”
