Buying Your Home

One Budget. Three Buyers. One Builder.

When we look at buyers in the marketplace and what they value most, they tend to fall into one of three categories. Assuming that these three types of buyers all have the same total budget to spend, here is what each group might value most:

For the first homeowner, big is better. These homeowners want a home with the maximum square footage for the price. They value bigger bedrooms, bigger closets, and bigger pantries. They simply want the biggest home they can get for their budget.

The next type of homeowner values a new home loaded with design features. They are willing to give up some square footage so they can dedicate more of their budget to things like hardwood floors, upgraded cabinets, fireplaces, bathroom fixtures and the ability to change the basic design of a floor plan to better fit their lifestyle.

And finally, there is a third type of homeowner who wants a little of both. These customers usually come to us after looking at used homes and other new homes because they can’t find the right combination of space and design for their budget.

"Space is the most important thing for us. We're a growing family, and we need a home that's big enough without putting too much strain on our budget." "For us, the size of our home isn't as important as the design features. Quality fixtures. Flooring. Those are the kinds of things we'd rather devote our budget to."

"We looked at a lot of new and used homes, but we couldn't find the right combination of space, style and price. It's important for us to have all three."
