PORTAGE, Mich, October 12, 2023 - Michigan-based homebuilder Allen Edwin Homes is committing to donating $100 per each home sold during the month of October 2023 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is a nationally recognized non-profit organization committed to advancing the world’s most promising breast cancer research.
October is recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the United States and the team at Allen Edwin Homes wanted to help spread the message, as well as fundraise and commit to donating.
“Breast Cancer Research is a cause that is very important to many Allen Edwin Homes employees. So many of us have lost a loved one or know someone who has,” said Rachel Sabo, Marketing Manager for Allen Edwin Homes. “My mother’s best friend was diagnosed with breast cancer at 35. She went through surgery and treatment for several years. The cancer eventually metastasized to her brain, and she succumbed to her disease at just 40 years old. She kept a positive attitude and a fighting spirit throughout. She left behind a 7-year-old son, husband and many friend and family members. With proper research and funding, stories like this can be minimized. Breast cancer is rarely preventable, but self-testing and mammograms are vital for early detection.”
