Allen Edwin Lends a Hand in Discovery Elementary's Outdoor Pavilion

Allen Edwin Homes gains recognition from Discovery Elementary.

Allen Edwin Homes, Michigan’s largest home builder, was recognized on October 11, 2013 at the Discovery Elementary Dedication Ceremony in Kentwood for donating building materials towards their new outdoor Pavilion.

The Pavilion is part of the school’s Discovery Zone space that is located behind the school in preserved nature. The concept is to take the classroom outside and utilize the space for projects crossing all subjects, and simply to enjoy.

“Children who attend Discovery Elementary now have a new place to learn and explore nature,” says Maureen Kaczanowski, a student’s parent that led the team to build the outdoor education area, “The Pavilion provides additional opportunities for the school to host outdoor musical performances, family picnics and much more.”

Discovery Elementary is located next to the Allen Edwin community of Bretonfield in the city of Kentwood. With homes starting in the $150,000’s, this community is an exceptional value and highly desirable option for prospective homebuyers.

“Allen Edwin Homes is proud to work with Discovery Elementary to help bring together the Discovery Zone Pavilion,” said Mike McGivney, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Allen Edwin Homes, “We have strong ties with Discovery Elementary because of our neighboring Bretonfield community and we feel creating a safe, fun outdoor space where children can learn and grow together is great for everyone.”
