Community of the Month: Country Cottage Estates

This upscale community is a quiet shelter with convenient access to Grand Blanc’s major expressways, connecting people with downtown Grand Blanc and Flint.

Country Cottage Estates is a quiet cul-de-sac neighborhood, with a community pool, clubhouse, and playground. The Genesys Regional Medical Center is less than one mile away, making this community especially attractive those employed at the Medical Center.  Country Cottage Estates has immediate access to US 75, so that the area’s major economic and cultural centers like downtown Flint and Bishop International Airport are less than 20 minutes away. Nearby Grand Mall and Office Center and the surrounding commercial corridor includes a large grocery store, Movie Theater, and national brand shops and restaurants.

The preserved hills and forests around Grand Blanc, Flint, and Fenton are home to several country clubs, golf clubs and state parks.  Some noteworthy options include Atlas Valley Country Club, Flint Golf Club, Willowood Country Club, or Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club.  There is also a plethora of public park land at Ortonville State Recreation Area and Seven Lakes State Park, which offer boating, fishing, hiking, skiing, and camping. Mt. Holly Ski and Snowboard Resort is less than 15 minutes drive, perfect for winter athletes, with a large lodge, heated patio, snowboard courses, and 19 ski trails.

Residents of Country Cottage Estates are part of the Grand Blanc school district, including Brendel Elementary, Grand Blanc West Middle, and Grand Blanc High schools, which are highly rated on Education.com based on student test scores. Grand Blanc High School has a partnership with University of Michigan-Flint to provide free online tutoring, the Advanced Placement (AP) program, and high school dual enrollment so that advanced students can receive college credit prior to graduation.
