Community of the Month: Kensington Place

kensington place
This peaceful, resort-style community in the City of Holland is less than 10 minutes from the beaches of Lake Michigan.

Kensington Place is defined by rear alley roads, which allow for expansive front yards, family-friendly sidewalks and curb appeal. The spacious homes surround a community clubhouse, pool, volleyball court and manicured open green space.
The community is a few minutes away from the intersection of US 40 and I-196, with dining, shopping, and groceries nearby.

Downtown Holland, five minutes to the north, has earned the Great American Mainstreet award. It has an historic district with a modern flair. Trendy retail, gourmet coffee shops, family and fine dining, Irish pubs, and waterfront eateries line the streets. There are year-round festivities, including the famous Tulip Time parade. Downtown Holland even heats their sidewalks and streets for safe, accessible winter activity.

Kensington Place residents are close to beach access, the most popular being the beaches of Holland State Park and the Saugatuck Dunes. Boat docks line the mouth of Holland’s Lake Macatawa for boat owners. Plenty of inland recreation can be found nearby as well. Golf courses, soccer complexes, baseball fields, trails and parks can all be found within a five-mile radius, with orchards, vineyards and wineries just beyond that.

For a metropolitan outing, downtown Grand Rapids is less than a half hour down I-196. The Gerald R. Ford International Airport sits on the far side of Grand Rapids and allows residents a short drive for airline travel. Museums, breweries, restaurants and professional sports are a just a few of the many amenities in West Michigan’s biggest city.

Kensington place sits inside the Hamilton Community Schools district, which has a robust academic program, with an array of opportunities in fine arts and athletics. Hamilton Community School offer two different pre-school programs for 3- and 4-year olds, and have home-schooling and online learning partnerships as well.
