Mike is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Allen Edwin Homes, a role he has held since joining the company in February 2010. His career in the homebuilding industry began with Pulte Homes of Michigan in 1999, where he excelled in new home sales before becoming Sales Manager in 2003. In 2004, he was promoted to Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Pulte Homes of Ohio. From 2008 to 2010, Mike served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for KB Homes in South Carolina and North Carolina. 

When asked why he joined the Allen Edwin team, Mike explained, “The people of Allen Edwin. The team is highly focused and devoted to building and delivering a great home and experience for our homeowners. I toured and visited several communities and the New Home Showroom and was amazed at the features and style that was offered for a new home including Energy Star, 10-Year Structural Warranty, and great style features such as granite countertops, crown and chair moldings, stainless steel appliances, and more. All of this is designed to give homebuyers an unparalleled homebuying experience.” 

Mike holds a BA degree from Michigan State University and is actively involved in the Michigan State University Alumni Association and the Knights of Columbus. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, golfing, traveling, and reading.

Rachel Sabo’s journey is as dynamic as her passions. Originally from the scenic shores of Traverse City, Michigan, she first honed her academic skills at Southern Connecticut State University before proudly graduating from Michigan State University. In June 2014, she joined Allen Edwin Homes, bringing an innovative mindset and a deep dedication to marketing and technology. With a keen ability to leverage digital strategies, emerging trends, and data-driven insights, Rachel has played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s brand presence and customer engagement.

Beyond the office, Rachel thrives on movement, competition, and exploration. Whether she’s mastering a golf swing, carving down snowy slopes on her snowboard, or dominating any game involving a racket or paddle, her love for challenge and continuous improvement shines through. Her commitment to fitness extends to Pilates and yoga, where she finds balance and strength both physically and mentally.

A true strategist at heart, Rachel applies the same curiosity and drive that fuel her career to her greatest passion, traveling the world with her husband and toddler. Having explored 25+ countries (and counting!), she embraces each adventure with an open mind and an eagerness to learn, collecting stories and experiences that shape both her personal and professional outlook.

Natalie Sayfie is a proud graduate of Michigan State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, and Grand Valley State University, where she completed her Master of Social Work. Before joining Allen Edwin Homes, Natalie worked as a school social worker in an Emotionally Impaired classroom in Kent City, demonstrating her dedication to helping others.

Natalie’s journey to Allen Edwin began during a summer internship with the Marketing department, where she discovered her passion for the creative and analytical aspects of the field. When the opportunity to join the team full-time arose, she eagerly embraced it. Today, Natalie thrives in the collaborative and innovative environment at Allen Edwin, where the company culture aligns perfectly with her values.

Outside of work, Natalie treasures time with her family and friends. Being a new mom, she finds immense joy in watching her son grow and learn. She’s also passionate about pop culture, reading, drawing, video games, and music, and loves traveling to explore both nearby and faraway destinations. Natalie’s diverse interests and enthusiasm for life make her a valuable and dynamic member of the Allen Edwin team!

Sandy Gardner is a highly accomplished professional with over 30 years of expertise across mortgage lending, title insurance, and construction. Her comprehensive knowledge of the real estate and financial sectors has enabled her to cultivate a diverse and impactful skill set, encompassing all facets of mortgage origination, title services, and construction. Throughout her distinguished career, Sandy has played an integral role in assisting clients with navigating intricate transactions and achieving successful, seamless outcomes.

For the past 15 years, Sandy has been an invaluable member of Allen Edwin Homes, where she has built a reputation for her exceptional problem-solving abilities, customer-centric approach, and unwavering attention to detail. She possesses a unique blend of technical proficiency and practical insight, ensuring that each project, whether related to lending, title insurance, or construction—is executed with precision and efficiency.

Latrice Johnson is a dedicated and experienced Closing Administrator at Allen Edwin Homes, where she has been an integral part of the team for five years. With a deep passion for the homebuilding industry, she takes immense pride in helping buyers navigate the final steps of their journey to homeownership. Latrice finds great fulfillment in working directly with homebuyers, ensuring a seamless and positive closing experience as they step into their dream homes. Emily Morris joined Allen Edwin Homes in early 2022, bringing a unique blend of experience and a passion for helping others achieve their dream of homeownership. After studying Dental Hygiene at KVCC in 2019-2020, Emily decided to explore a different career path during the challenges of 2020.

This led her to the mortgage industry, where she worked as a loan processor at a small mortgage company. Coming from a family of top Mortgage Brokers in Michigan, including her father, who owned his own mortgage company and later worked at one of Allen Edwin's preferred lenders, Independent Bank, Emily found inspiration in their legacy.

After nearly five years in the dental field, she pivoted to follow in her parents' footsteps, transitioning to a career closely aligned with her passion for helping others. When the mortgage company she worked for downsized in late 2021, Emily sought a role that would allow her to continue assisting buyers. With connections already at Allen Edwin, she applied for an open position and joined the team.

Since then, she has embraced her role with enthusiasm, describing it as a joy and an incredible opportunity to help families purchase their dream homes. Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with friends and family, baking, photography, and soaking up the summer at the lake or pool. Her dedication to both her career and personal passions makes her a valuable and vibrant member of the Allen Edwin Homes team.

Kelly Hemmes graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Education, double majoring in Elementary Education and Spanish. She also earned a Master’s Degree in Education and Technology from Western Michigan University. Before joining Allen Edwin Homes, Kelly spent 12 years as a teacher.

She began by teaching Kindergarten in Phoenix, AZ, for nearly two years before moving to a bilingual school in Kalamazoo, where she taught 2nd Grade for seven years, Kindergarten for one year, and 5th Grade for two years.

Kelly joined Allen Edwin Homes in August of 2016 after deciding to step away from teaching due to health reasons. At that time, a position opened in Allen Edwin’s Closing Department, which turned out to be a perfect fit.

Since then, she has been happy assisting families throughout their homebuilding journeys. In her free time, Kelly enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her dogs Tanner and Prince. Her hobbies include yoga, cooking, hiking, gardening, and anything that gets her outside.

Alexandra Kruh joined Allen Edwin Homes in 2017, bringing a diverse background and a passion for meaningful work to the team. She graduated from Hope College with a Bachelor of Arts degree, double majoring in History and Classical Studies. After spending four years in the insurance industry, Alexandra realized she was ready for a change and sought out a company with a strong, positive culture. She found exactly that at Allen Edwin Homes, where the supportive environment and team-driven mindset have exceeded her expectations.

Outside of the office, Alexandra loves spending time in her garden, getting lost in a good book, and baking sweet treats. She also enjoys snowboarding, playing board games, and making memories with friends. Her creativity, enthusiasm, and dedication make her an invaluable part of the Allen Edwin Homes team.

Kim brings a wealth of expertise to the building and construction industry, with a professional journey that spans multiple facets of the trades. Her impressive portfolio includes experience at a lumber company, working with semi-custom builders, and specializing in kitchen and bath design.

This diverse background, coupled with her deep knowledge of custom kitchen design, makes her an invaluable resource for the families she serves. Her design philosophy is both sophisticated and approachable.

Kim has a keen eye for texture, a flair for incorporating creative details, and a strong appreciation for the transformative power of color in a space. These qualities enable her to create personalized designs that reflect her clients' unique styles and needs.

Kim earned her BA in Textile & Apparel Studies from Western Michigan University, further solidifying her foundation in design and aesthetics. Outside of work, Kim leads a vibrant life with her husband and twin daughters. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the latest trends in fashion and home décor, savoring culinary experiences at local restaurants, or unwinding with a great book.

Megan Thomas graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science in Comprehensive Science and Arts for Teaching, double-majoring in Elementary Education (K-5) and Cognitive/Emotional Impairments (K-12).

Before joining Allen Edwin Homes in August 2019, Megan spent five years as an educator, teaching second grade in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and kindergarten in Jenison, Michigan, where she also coached JV soccer. As another school year approached, Megan sought a new challenge and found the perfect fit at Allen Edwin Homes.

The role allowed her to combine her passion for working with people, home decorating, and design. Helping families bring their dream homes to life has been an incredibly fulfilling experience that aligns with her talents and interests.

Outside of work, Megan enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her dog, Ammo. Her hobbies include yoga, golf, soccer, boating, traveling, and any activity that gets her outdoors. Megan is also proud of her affiliation with Grand Valley State Women’s Soccer, reflecting her lifelong love for sports and teamwork.

Mara Osgood holds an Associate Degree in Business Management from Grand Rapids Community College. Growing up in a family immersed in the building and design industry, Mara gained firsthand experience and inspiration from her mother, an interior designer. Her fascination with the creative process and the outcomes of design projects sparked a passion for craftsmanship and innovation.

She loves exploring homes to discover the latest designs and trends. Mara attended Byron Center High School, where she played soccer. While studying at GRCC, she worked part-time in the Design Studio, where her love for working with people quickly turned into a full-time career.

This opportunity became the foundation for her professional journey, ultimately leading her to Allen Edwin Homes. In her spare time, Mara enjoys spending time with friends, family, and animals—especially dogs.

Her hobbies include golfing, boating, yoga, hiking, biking, and kickboxing. She also has a deep interest in preventive and functional medicine, continually learning more about the field. Mara’s enthusiasm for design, customer service, and personal growth makes her a valuable part of the Allen Edwin Homes team.

Frank Bolton joined Allen Edwin Homes on February 13, 2017, bringing over a decade of hands-on experience in home improvement. Before joining the team, Frank was self-employed for 10 years, specializing in door and window installations for Home Depot. His expertise and attention to detail made him a trusted professional in the field, laying a strong foundation for his role at Allen Edwin.

Frank holds associate degrees in Computer Science and Criminal Justice, showcasing his diverse skills and problem-solving abilities. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time camping and honing his woodworking skills. In his spare time, Frank also takes on RV repairs, combining his craftsmanship with his passion for hands-on projects.

With a blend of technical knowledge, practical experience, and a love for creating and repairing, Frank continues to be a valuable asset to the Allen Edwin Homes team.

Chris Stott's journey to becoming an integral part of AEH is a story of diverse experiences, self-made expertise, and a passion for hands-on work. With a strong background rooted in craftsmanship and management, Chris has built a career that showcases both his adaptability and dedication. His professional journey began in 1998, when he started as a finish carpenter. This role laid the foundation for his later ventures, where he honed his skill for creating finely detailed work. Over the next decade, from 2008 to 2012, Chris expanded his horizons by becoming a self-employed home remodeler. His ability to transform homes and solve complex challenges in the construction and renovation space earned him a reputation for excellence.

In 2012, Chris further broadened his professional scope by stepping into a management position as an Apartment Maintenance Supervisor. This shift allowed him to develop a deeper understanding of operations, team coordination, and efficiency in maintaining apartment complexes. His unique combination of technical expertise and leadership ability naturally led him to AEH, where his diverse skills are put to good use. With a wide-ranging background that encompasses both individual craftsmanship and large-scale management, Chris has become an asset to the team.

Outside of work, Chris is a person who finds joy in life's simple pleasures. He has an array of hobbies that reflect his appreciation for craftsmanship and creativity. His love for gardening, woodworking, and working on cars speaks to his practical, hands-on nature, while his passion for cooking showcases his ability to create and nurture in different ways. In his downtime, Chris enjoys the company of his St. Bernard, Charlie Brown, with whom he shares countless moments of companionship.

One of the more unique and exciting chapters of Chris's life includes working on the Extreme Home Makeover TV show in Armada, Michigan. This experience added a distinct layer to his career, providing him the opportunity to contribute to a high-profile project while further developing his craft. Chris Stott’s journey is a testament to versatility, work ethic, and the continuous pursuit of personal and professional growth.

Rodney Thom has been a dedicated member of the Allen Edwin Homes team, with a career that began in October 1998. After a brief hiatus, Rodney returned to AEH in January 2010, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to excellence.

With a diploma supplemented by trade courses and a Residential Builders License, Rodney’s career path has been shaped by his hands-on expertise and problem-solving skills. Prior to joining Allen Edwin Homes, he spent 10 years as an apartment maintenance manager in Grand Rapids, where he honed his ability to manage projects, solve challenges, and deliver quality results.

Outside of work, Rodney is a passionate sports fan who enjoys watching all types of sporting events. He also treasures time spent with his family, whether camping, playing Euchre with loved ones, or gathering around a bonfire. When not enjoying the great outdoors or family activities, Rodney channels his creativity and skills into making thoughtful upgrades to his home.

A fun fact about Rodney: when he first started with Allen Edwin Homes, his office was a shared closet with the Production staff at the Sanderson DeHaan Irrigation office—fondly remembered as a former chicken coop. This humorous start is a testament to how far both Rodney and AEH have come over the years.

Heather Bryson officially joined the Allen Edwin Homes team on July 27, 2015, after starting as a temp on March 31, 2015. She brings a vibrant blend of creativity and dedication to her role, fueled by her passion for crafting and her love for her family.

Heather enjoys spending time with her mother, participating in craft shows, and is a devoted Kalamazoo Wings hockey fan, attending as many games as possible. In her free time, Heather cherishes creating memories with her family and exploring various crafting projects, from DIY décor to handmade gifts.

Born in Hawaii, Heather is the proud daughter of two Marine Corps veterans, a heritage that has shaped her strong sense of pride and resilience. Her dynamic personality and creative spirit make her an invaluable part of the Allen Edwin Homes team.

Mitchel Davis joined Allen Edwin Homes on September 4, 2013, bringing with him over 20 years of diverse experience in home construction. His background spans new builds, renovations, production home construction, and specialized areas such as basement waterproofing and tilt-up construction. 

Mitchel’s expertise includes framing, concrete, roofing, insulation, drywall, trim, flooring, and production management, making him a well-rounded professional in the field. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from Saginaw Valley State University. Outside of work, Mitchel enjoys hockey, snowboarding, camping, and traveling with his family, embracing an active and adventurous lifestyle.

Natalie Greer joined Allen Edwin Homes on February 26, 2018, bringing with her valuable experience as a service scheduler for a mechanical contractor. Her background in managing complex schedules and coordinating services seamlessly transitioned into her role at Allen Edwin Homes, where her organizational skills and attention to detail have been instrumental in driving operational efficiency and supporting the company’s continued success. Brooke Cramer joined Allen Edwin Homes on September 4, 2018, bringing a wealth of experience and a passion for helping people find their perfect homes. Before joining the team, Brooke managed rental properties in Louisiana, honing her skills in customer service and property management. Originally from Pennsylvania, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Management from Lock Haven University, where she developed a strong foundation in organization and community engagement. Alan Higley joined Allen Edwin Homes on August 15, 2018, bringing a wealth of experience from his years in the window and door industry. With a Bachelor's degree in Management from Davenport University, Alan combines his expertise with a passion for creating exceptional experiences for customers and team members alike.

An adventurer at heart, Alan thrives on staying active and enjoying the great outdoors. Phil Lane joined Allen Edwin Homes on September 6, 2022, bringing over three decades of hands-on experience and expertise to the team. A highly skilled professional, Phil earned his high school diploma and went on to complete a trade school certification in tool and die, laying the foundation for his successful career. Prior to joining Allen Edwin Homes, Phil spent 32 years as a contractor and self-employed specialist in manufactured housing, where he developed a reputation for precision, reliability, and exceptional craftsmanship.

Outside of work, Phil is an avid golfer who enjoys spending time on the course whenever he gets the chance. He’s also a passionate Detroit sports fan, making it a point to catch Tigers and Lions games as often as possible. When it’s time to relax and recharge, Phil and his wife love escaping to the beautiful beaches of St. John in the Virgin Islands, where they can unwind and enjoy their favorite getaway destination.

Lacey Wymer joined Allen Edwin Homes in June 2023, bringing over five years of valuable experience in the mortgage industry. After building her career at Amerifirst Home Mortgage, Lacey was excited to transition her expertise to the Allen Edwin team, where she continues to make a positive impact.

In her free time, Lacey enjoys spending time with her family and creating fun, lasting memories with her son. Whether they’re watching Dragon Ball Z, bowling, playing ping pong, or exploring new activities, she loves ensuring her son has a childhood full of joy and adventure.

Lacey also enjoys playing darts with her husband, swimming, and dreaming about the day she’ll own her dream car—a 1970 Chevelle. Lacey’s enthusiasm for life and dedication to her family shine through in everything she does, making her an exceptional part of the Allen Edwin team!

Daniel Edward Gerstbauer brings a unique and diverse background to Allen Edwin Homes, having joined the team on July 10, 2023. With a strong work ethic and hands-on experience across several industries, Daniel’s career journey has been marked by growth, adaptability, and a passion for craftsmanship.

After earning his diploma, Daniel spent 12 years as a screen printer, honing his attention to detail and precision. His career then took him to Alabama, where he worked for Publix grocery store for a year before returning home. Back in Indiana, Daniel transitioned into the RV industry, working at Thor for a year and then at Recreation by Design for nearly four years.

During this time, he also pursued house flipping projects, leveraging his skills in woodworking, renovation, and problem-solving. His path eventually led him to Allen Edwin Homes, where his dedication and multifaceted background make him an asset to the team. In his free time, Daniel’s world revolves around his two young children, ages 3 and 5. Whether they’re camping, playing, or tackling fun adventures together, being a present and engaged dad is his greatest joy.

Beyond family time, Daniel enjoys woodworking, welding, and taking on creative projects that challenge his skills and imagination. A former athlete with a deep love for basketball, Daniel played year-round for 14 years across three different teams. His talent opened doors to full-ride scholarship opportunities across the country, but life took a different turn.

Today, Daniel is focused on building a bright future for himself and his family. A fun fact about Daniel: at one point, he and his family had 16 animals, including a horse, rabbits, dogs, cats, and numerous foster pets.

This love for animals highlights his compassionate nature and commitment to caring for others. With his diverse experience, resilience, and dedication to his craft and family, Daniel brings an inspiring energy and valuable skill set to the Allen Edwin Homes team.

Tim Scheerhorn has been an integral part of Allen Edwin Homes since May 14, 2007, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his background in custom home building. His deep understanding of home construction and design has made him a valuable asset to the team, helping to elevate the company’s reputation for delivering high-quality, innovative homes. Tim’s commitment to excellence and his attention to detail have been pivotal in ensuring that every home meets the highest standards, making him a trusted resource for both colleagues and homeowners alike.

Outside of work, Tim channels his passion for craftsmanship into personal projects and his love for fast cars, especially Mustangs. A dedicated automotive enthusiast, he enjoys restoring and showcasing Mustangs at car shows, connecting with like-minded car lovers, and immersing himself in the vibrant automotive community. Whether he’s fine-tuning a car’s performance or completing a home project, Tim’s dedication to precision and creativity shines through in everything he does.

Chad Scheerhorn has been a valued member of Allen Edwin Homes since 2015, bringing a passion for craftsmanship and an extensive background in building to the team. With over a decade of experience as an interior trim carpenter before joining AEH, Chad’s expertise in construction and eye for detail have been instrumental in creating high-quality homes that stand out for their superior finishes. His dedication to the craft of building runs deep, inspired by years of hands-on work and a family connection to the industry.

Outside of work, Chad is a true outdoorsman and hands-on enthusiast. Whether he’s hunting, fishing, or tackling intricate building projects, he thrives on creating and exploring. His hobbies extend beyond the job site to personal endeavors, including woodworking, car restoration, and spending cherished time in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with family and friends.

A self-described "speed junkie," Chad’s love for fast cars and motorcycles fuels his adventurous spirit. His blend of technical expertise, passion for the outdoors, and a drive for excellence make him a dynamic part of the AEH team.

Kurt Feringa joined Allen Edwin Homes on March 22, 2021, bringing with him an impressive background in construction and home improvement. With over a decade of experience at Roberts Home Improvement, followed by roles at AMI and Environmental Door, Kurt has cultivated a wealth of knowledge and skills that make him a valuable member of the team.

Kurt channels his expertise and passion into his hobbies, which include woodworking, building, and home improvement. He's also an avid sports enthusiast who enjoys soccer, hockey, golf, and softball.

When Kurt isn’t working (which he humorously says leaves little spare time), he loves spending quality time with his family and lending a hand with projects for friends and loved ones. His life motto, "Don’t take life too seriously—you’ll never get out alive," perfectly reflects his lighthearted and grounded approach to life.

Kurt's dedication to his craft and his genuine care for others make him an integral part of the Allen Edwin Homes family.

With a background rooted in construction, Kenny Jacobs brings years of hands-on experience and expertise to Allen Edwin Homes. He began his career in high school, cleaning job sites and fixing silt fences, before transitioning to full-time work with a commercial contractor for four years. After gaining valuable commercial construction experience, Kenny moved into residential remodeling, focusing primarily on high-end homes along the lakeshore. His work included deck renovations, kitchen remodels, and full-home transformations, giving him a well-rounded skill set that led him to join Allen Edwin Homes in March 2020.

Outside of work, Kenny is passionate about golf and plays as often as possible while balancing life as an active father of two. He is also a devoted college football fan and enjoys keeping up with the season. In his limited spare time, he can be found either on the golf course or reading a good book. A fun fact about Kenny is that, at the age of 12, his baseball team won regionals and appeared on local TV, where he gave a memorable impression of Sammy Sosa.

Russell Rothenthaler is a driven professional whose path to AEH reflects both his dedication to his craft and a strong foundation in construction management. With a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Russell's education has equipped him with the technical knowledge and project management skills necessary to thrive in the construction industry. He joined the AEH team in September 2021, having been referred by a close friend who was already part of the company. This connection paved the way for him to bring his expertise and passion to the company, where he has quickly become a valuable asset.

Russell’s professional background is complemented by a personal interest in outdoor activities, where he finds balance and relaxation. He enjoys spending his free time engaging in hunting and fishing, immersing himself in nature and the tranquility it offers. Richard Henry joined Allen Edwin Homes as a Production Manager in Lansing on June 27, 2022, bringing extensive expertise in construction and homebuilding. Prior to joining the team, Richard earned his HVAC certification, held an apprentice plumbing license, and obtained his builder’s license in 2020, which he continues to keep up to date. His well-rounded background in trades and construction management has equipped him with the technical knowledge and leadership skills needed to excel in his role.

Outside of work, Richard enjoys spending quality time with family and friends. Weekly game nights and Sunday dinners are a cherished tradition that allow him to stay connected with loved ones. He also has a passion for gardening, traveling, and playing music, hobbies that fuel his creativity and keep him active.
