Community of the Month: Rolling Hills Estates

This privately situated community with over-sized lots and good schools offers a natural backdrop for suburban living.

Rolling Hills is in Georgetown Township, one of Michigan’s fastest-growing communities, near Jennison and Hudsonville and a short commute to Grand Rapids.

Shopping, restaurants, banks, and retail are a few miles away in Jenison. Rolling Hills features convenient access to I-196 and is 15 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids. Metropolitan proximity gives residents the benefits of big-city attractions and amenities while still able to retreat to the peace and quiet of home. The community is 10 minutes from RiverTown Crossings Mall, whose anchor stores include Macy’s, Younkers and Kohls. Dining options abound near the mall, from popular picks such as Olive Garden, On the Border and T.G.I. Friday’s, to an assortment of family-friendly restaurants

 Hager Park in Jenison boasts 104 acres of accessible outdoor space for picnicking, hiking along nature trails or enjoying the Age of Discovery community-built playground. Hager Park’s spring showing of hardwood blossoms wildflowers punctuate the natural feel. Golf enthusiasts have their pick of at about a dozen nearby golf courses.

Rolling Hills is served by the Hudsonville Public Schools with Jenison Public Schools being an optional school-of-choice. Both schools were ranked in the top 65 districts in Michigan, ranked by Bridgemi.com. Hudsonville Public Schools are large enough to offer a comprehensive academic program and a wide variety of extra-curricular activities, but are small enough to still offer individual attention and support for all students. For the past three years, Hudsonville Public Schools have received an “A” grade for all buildings from the Michigan Department of Education. Jenison Public Schools features a balance of rigorous academics and arts and musical acumen. Ranked by the Washington Post as one of the most Challenging High School for the past three years.
