What makes this classroom special?

I strive for a nurturing and loving environment in my classroom. I’ve known as the lemon teacher because that’s my theme in my room. I always joke that my students can be sour or they can be sweet. I am moving to a brand new district this year. I don’t really know what to expect. I’m very excited but very nervous. I love getting to start a child’s education career and be the first person to impact their lives as a kindergarten teacher. I wanna be the teacher that they come back to every year just to say hi cause they know they’re always welcome. My favorite part of teaching is getting to see them grow up and get so big throughout the years. I love what I do and wouldn’t change it for the world.

This will be my first year teaching! I was able to do my student teaching with at the building I was hired at and will be partners with my mentor teacher. This had helped me out a ton in knowing what materials I’ll need to make my classroom amazing for my future students. I have spent the last 6 years working as a substitute teacher and summer learning program teacher while getting my degree and cannot wait to put together an amazing, welcoming environment for all my students with all the experience I was able to build.

This will be my second year teaching, and what made my classroom so special my first year was knowing that every experience was a new, shared experience between myself and my students. I was honest with them and their families that it was my first year teaching EVER! They were still all so supportive and patient while I learned the ropes. My students knew we didn’t have all of the fancy decorations they’d seen next door, and exactly why. Decorations are made by students! In my classroom, students helped make decor, with crafts and anti-bullying signage, they created handmade zones charts and by the end of the year we had a beautiful, decorated room like everyone else but with a small twist. It didn’t include previous years- the classroom was built by them and they were so proud. I plan on keeping some of it but also allowing my new class to do the same! I look forward to my job every day, learning new things about the career or children.

I teach 6th grade social studies, which, in Michigan, focuses a lot on Geography and culture. Though SS is often put in the back burner to critical subjects like math and reading, I firmly believe that learning about the world around us is absolutely necessary in our global society. It allows us to show how all of the different pieces of the puzzle can come together to create some pretty awesome things.

What makes this classroom special?

My preschool classroom serves children ages 4–5 during one of the most important stages of their development. Every day, our students build the foundational skills they need for kindergarten success through engaging, hands-on learning experiences in early literacy, writing, mathematics, and science. While academic readiness is a priority, I believe children learn best through purposeful play. Our classroom follows an open-play model that allows students to make choices, solve problems, collaborate with peers, and explore materials based on their interests. This child-led approach fosters creativity, independence, communication, and critical thinking while encouraging a lifelong love of learning. In addition to academics, we place a strong emphasis on developing fine motor skills through activities that strengthen the small muscles in children’s hands, preparing them for writing, cutting, and other everyday tasks. Sensory exploration is also an essential part of our classroom. By providing a variety of sensory experiences, students engage their senses, build language, regulate emotions, and deepen their understanding of the world around them. To keep students engaged and continually challenged, I rotate classroom toys and learning materials throughout the school year. Introducing new, developmentally appropriate resources encourages curiosity, extends learning opportunities, and allows me to meet the diverse needs and interests of every child. Funding items from my Amazon Wish List would directly enhance these learning experiences by providing high-quality educational materials, sensory resources, fine motor activities, and imaginative play opportunities that many of my students might not otherwise have access to. Every item selected has a purposeful role in supporting early childhood development and creating an engaging, inclusive classroom where every child can thrive. Your generosity would have a lasting impact—not only by enriching our classroom today, but by helping build the confidence, skills, and love of learning that students will carry with them into kindergarten and beyond.

My classroom is more than just a place to learn reading and math—it's a place where my students feel loved, encouraged, and excited to come every day. I believe first grade should be full of wonder, laughter, and hands-on learning that creates memories my students will carry with them long after they leave my classroom. I work hard to make learning fun and meaningful through interactive activities, games, and experiences that keep my students engaged while building their confidence. Every child who walks through my door is celebrated for who they are, and I want them to know it's okay to make mistakes because that's how we grow. I constantly look for new ways to make my classroom feel warm, inviting, and full of opportunities to explore. Whether it's flexible learning tools, creative centers, or books that spark imagination, every resource has a purpose. My goal is for my students to leave first grade not only stronger readers and learners but also kinder, more confident, and excited about school. At the end of the day, I hope my students remember my classroom as a place where they felt safe, valued, and truly believed in.

As a special education teacher my room is used for more then just learning. Yes students often come to my room to be taught academic standards or get help with classroom skills, but they also come for so many other reasons. My room is a place to come when they are disregulated, overwhelmed, or just need a quite moment to regroup. We learn how to read and do math, and we also learn how to take deep breaths and understand big feelings. Having an area in my room that is equipped to help students work through these big feelings is important to me. Due to the amount of use my calm down area and the items in it gets I have to frequently restock it. Items often break due to frequent use or find their way home with students who need it most. My wish list this year is focused on helping to restock needed items to continue to make this space special for my students.

I have been a teacher for 14 years now and have seen education go through a lot of changes. One thing that I try to never change is my love and joy of teaching! Even though they are there to learn, having that relationship with each student comes first. I try to make my classroom a comfortable and calm environment where students can take charge of their learning, while I guide and support them along the way. I am also in a very old building with limited supplies, so any and all support helps! Thank you for your consideration.

What makes this classroom special?

My elementary classroom is a place where every child is welcomed, valued, and encouraged to do their best. I strive to create a positive, safe, and respectful environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and learning from their mistakes. Learning in my classroom is engaging and hands-on. Students work together, solve problems, explore new ideas, and celebrate each other's successes. I believe every child learns differently, so I use a variety of activities and teaching strategies to help all students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Kindness, responsibility, and respect are at the heart of our classroom community. We celebrate individual strengths, encourage teamwork, and help students build confidence as learners and as people. My goal is for every student to leave my classroom knowing they are capable, important, and loved, with a lifelong excitement for learning.

What makes this classroom special?

I teach Developmental Kindergarten and for most of my students, it is their first experience in a school setting I strive to make school exciting and memorable so they can grow to love learning. Their opinion of their earliest years in school can shape the way they view the next 12 years of their education. I tried to do as much hands-on learning as possible. For example, during our farm unit, we hatch baby chicks, and when learning about how we get food from the farm to our table, we make our own bread and butter. My utmost goal, is for my students to come to school every day, excited and ready to learn.

What makes my classroom truly special isn't just the subjects we teach, but the vibrant, joyful noise of students taking charge of their own learning. As a proud Title 1 community, we have built a uniquely welcoming environment where social-emotional learning (SEL) is the bedrock of everything we do. Because our students feel deeply safe and valued, they possess the confidence to engage in powerful academic discourse. In our room, Math and ELA come alive not through quiet worksheets, but through collaborative debates, shared problem-solving, and students teaching students. Clearing our wishlist will directly fund the hands-on math manipulatives, diverse literature, and conversation-boosting tools that allow our students' brilliant voices to lead the classroom. Clearing our list will directly fuel a special space where empathy, articulation, and academic breakthroughs happen every single day!

What makes this classroom special?

Hi! I am switching school districts and will be teaching STEAM class to pre-K though 5th grade students. This school has not had one teacher in this role, it has been a mix of traveling teachers so it will be nice to be at one school and get to know all of the students well. The room needs a lot of work to be a welcoming environment where students can learn and explore. I want to make an inclusive environment where students feel safe to make mistakes and know that it is part of the learning process. I want to have my students represented in books and resources in my class through seeing students who look like them with various abilities. I would use this money to create a welcoming space and to purchase STEAM supplies for students to use. Specials teachers often don’t receive donations like classroom teachers. This would be a huge help in setting students up to have a successful year. Thank you for considering!

As a first year teacher and recent Trine University graduate, my ultimate goal is to create a welcoming and supportive classroom for my students. When it comes to sharing your writing, my students have to be vulnerable. This starts with the space and environment. I am focusing my classroom around a calm boho theme which mostly highlights pink! My favorite color! My educational philosophy is that I know some students come to school to learn, while others come for love, and I know I can confidently do both in my classroom. I would be truly honored to receive any help to make this dream possible, not just for me, but for my students as well. Thank you!

I enjoy finding creative approaches that make learning more engaging while ensuring every lesson has a clear purpose. My goal is not only to help students master academic standards, but also to help them become curious learners, thoughtful teammates, resilient problem-solvers, and kind people. This gives them the confidence to be able to put their skills to practice.
