Allen Edwin Homes and Liv Communities Break Ground on Liv East Bay, Bringing New Single-Family Rental and Affordable Housing Options to Traverse City
Traverse City, MI —May 5, 2025 Members from Allen
Edwin Homes, Liv Communities, CIBC Bank and various state and local officials
recently gathered under sunny spring skies to celebrate the official
groundbreaking of Liv East Bay, a new build-to-rent residential
community coming to the Traverse City, Michigan area.
Developed in partnership with Allen Edwin Homes—who also
serves as the project’s general contractor—Liv East Bay will feature 170
brand-new, luxury single-family rental homes, offering spacious 3, 4, and
5-bedroom layouts. Designed for flexibility, convenience, and quality, the
community is scheduled to open in early winter 2025.
In addition to expanding rental options in the region, Liv
East Bay will address a critical need in the local housing market. Through a
Tax Increment Financing (TIF) agreement, a percentage of the homes will be
designated as Missing Middle Housing, helping to bring attainable and
affordable living opportunities to the Traverse City area. This public-private
partnership reflects a shared commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and
thriving community.
