Community of the Month: Rolling Oaks Estates

Rolling Oaks Estates is located in a young community with a small-town culture and links to the larger cities to the south and north. Middleville has shopping, grocery options, antique stores, and veterinary center just a few minutes away. Young families can enjoy their local connections while having easy access by M-37 to Grand Rapids, M-43 to Kalamazoo and US 131 to all parts of Western Michigan. Lansing is less than an hour away. Residents eat at many of the local favorites such as Thornapple Kitchen and Faro Italian Pizza. The social, cultural, entertainment and dining options in the larger cities are typically less than 45-minutes’ drive. Air travel is also easy with the close proximity of the Gerald R. Ford International Airport.

Outdoor activities surround the community. Gun Lake is close by and is home to the Yankee Springs State Recreation Area, where hiking and cross country skiing draw people from all of Western Michigan. In the winter the area is open for hunting and snowmobiling. The lake covers 2,680 acres and serves up options for boating, tubing, sailing, swimming and fishing. Indian Valley Campground is a few minutes north of the Glass Creek community.

Children in Glass Creek attend the Thornapple Kellogg School district, comprising Lee Elementary, Thornapple Kellogg Middle School and High School. All schools were ranked by education.com as an 8 out of 10 or above. Bridgemi.com ranked the school district 212 out of 540 in Michigan. All schools score above state scores at standardized testing. Students can join an array of after-school sports such as swimming, football, basketball, volleyball and more. “Encourage and developing the positive potential of each student,” is Thornapple Kellogg schools motto.
