Community of the Month: Silvergrass
Monday May 23, 2016 by Allen Edwin Homes Team
Silvergrass is the first new single-home community in Mattawan in more than a decade, offering affordable living options in an award-winning school district.

Silvergrass has an open feel, located across the street from the town baseball diamonds and within walking distance of Mattawan Consolidated School campus. Those residing in Silvergrass enjoy a peaceful setting in a charming community while benefitting from city utilities.

Mattawan is considered by many in Southwestern Michigan to be the best place to raise a family in a rural setting while staying connected with happenings in the greater Kalamazoo area. Stores, fitness centers and convenient shopping options keep folks close to home much of the time, but Kalamazoo is an easy commute.

Much of Mattawan’s community life is centered on its distinguished school system. The highly regarded bridgemi.com rates Mattawan school district 89 out of 540 and points out that students typically surpasses the state average for standardized tests. Education.com ranks the high school 10 of 10 and the other schools are highly regarded as well. The schools offer traditional and special education curriculums as well as advanced placement courses. Sports are an exciting outlet for students to become involved in a variety of school sponsored options.
